   Hi all,

   The requested Job market candidates wiki is now live and can be found at http://www.econjobrumors.com/candidates.php or in the header navigation or the box on the homepage

   The idea of this wiki is to provide a centralized and standardized resource for job market candidates information. The current system is slow and cumbersome, hopefully we can improve this.

   It is important to note that any attempt to write something defamatory or sabotage another candidate on this wiki will be taken seriously as it may impact their job market chances. As a result IP tracking will be in place for each entry and only be released if the sabotaged candidate wishes to pursue legal action.

   If you wish to make any suggestions / improvements respond in this thread. As with all the other wikis you can sort the rows by all of the columns by clicking on the header column text.

   Any assistance with importing large datasets will be very useful. Best is to email across a Excel/CSV file.

   Should I add link to CV as an extra column? Seems like an obvious omission from the requested list of fields.

   The other columns already give the most relevant info - school, paper link, advisor and web site. I think there is no need for a cv.

   What about editing entry? Suppose some information about a particular candidate is incorrect or missing. Or suppose the candidate's changes its URL website. In that case, who has the right to edit the entry?

   Just concerned that the information I've uploaded may be missing or not 100% accurate.

   ^At the moment will have to email in edits. Not sure what the best method is as open editing would leave the wiki too open to sabotage.

   In terms of accuracy just go for best you can do. The only concern is the deliberate spreading of misinformation.

    As a job market candidate this year, I must say I will sleep less easy at night knowing there is a well organized and persistently checked posting on which I can be publically shamed at a centrally important time in my career. At least regular posts fall off the front page pretty quick, and won't keep being viewed unless they're on some unusually popular topic. This will constantly draw attention. The existence of this list is just a huge welfare transfer, taking away from job candidates and giving to trolls. To speak candidly, this is irresponsible and stupid of you. You know that this will be used for libel.

    I don't understand. Unless the information posted on the wiki is incorrect/incomplete, how would you be publicly shamed on the wiki? If you believe that information that is posted on the wiki is incorrect, you could request it to be deleted/edited.

    On the other hand job market candidates are sometimes discussed on EJMR. Having said that, if you think that one of the thread is incorrect or guilty for libel, request it to be deleted.

    Note that one major justification for using JEL codes on the candidates is that JOE uses JEL codes to sort job openings.
